FAQs

  • The period of consultation before certain treatments are essential as it allows both you and your practitioner to ask some very important questions.

Your practitioner will need to understand:

    Your full medical history

    Why you want the procedure

Your area of concern and what you want to achieve

They will also need to run through a consent form, which you will be required to sign, once all your questions have been answered.

Clients usually have many questions that they will want answering. Their primary concerns will be around the types of treatment available and the effects they will have. However, there are a number of other questions that should also be asked in order to ensure that the procedure is safe, effective and right for you.

  • Patch testing is mandatory for both safety and insurance purposes. Patch tests are required for general brow/lash tinting, HD brows, Lash lift & tint and Brow Lamination (separate test) and Microbrading. The patch test must be done at least 48 hours before any treatments can take place and is valid for 6 months. Although we do understand you may have had a test before at a different salon, we all use different products so have to do our own.

No exceptions will be made, and waiver forms are not offered.

  • We will require a deposit to secure your appointment. This helps ensure that our time isn’t unfairly taken up by people who are unlikely to turn up for the appointment.

Deposits are fully refundable and transferable when you give us 48 hours notice to move or cancel your appointment.

  • If you wish to change the date of your booking I require a minimum of 48 hours notice. To make a change to your booking please contact us via email on enquiries@theskinstation.co.uk or call us on 07888474791.

  • We ask that you arrive promptly for your appointment.

Should you arrive late, we will do our best to keep your arranged appointments, however we may have to shorten or change the appointment to ensure the other clients for the day aren’t affected.

  • Unfortunately due to the nature of the business we are not insured to allow children unattended on the premises. Therefore, we request that you do not attend to your appointment with your children .

I apologise in advance for the inconvenience.

  • We are currently not accepting walk-ins. We operate by appointment only so that we can maintain limited customer numbers within our service areas. • Customers visiting The Skin Station for appointments are required to wear a face covering. They are permitted to remove their face covering for their treatment as their practitioner will be wearing a visor during this time and maintaining a social distance of two metres before and after the treatment.

  • We do both threading and waxing. We do reccomend to all our clients to have threading as it is much more effective than the wax, and more gentle on the skin. It’s your choice what you want, so we’re happy to do either!

  • Semi-permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique where coloured pigment is applied to the upper layer of the Dermis. The result is long lasting colour that resembles lightly applied makeup. This procedure is also known as permanent makeup, micropigmentation, SPMU, PMU, Semi permanent makeup and cosmetic tattooing. Microblading however is a technique using a manual blade to create a fine incision in the skin and then pigment is implanted.

  • First we start with a consultation. At this time we will discuss your desired semi-permanent makeup expectations. I'll then measure your facial features and 'draw on' a non-permanent test to ensure you will be happy with the results. We will then go through colours. Once we have agreed on the colour and shape, I'll begin your treatment using a sterile needle or microblade. Once we have completed the procedure, you will be provided with aftercare advice and healing balm to protect your skin. You may experience some slight swelling and redness after treatment but this will subside within 24-48 hours. Skin may feel sensitive as well in the treated area. The appointment itself takes approximately 2-3 hours, please allow 3 hours as this is a treatment that cannot be rushed. You'll then return 4-6 weeks later for a second appointment to top up any lost areas of pigment, adjust the colour and tweak the shape if necessary.

  • It is really important to let us know in confidence if you are pregnant as there are certain treatments and products not suitable throughout pregnancy.

However we can offer lots of treatments and adapt treatments to suit you and your baby!

  • Yes, you can still have facials however we ask you to wait 2 weeks after having Botox/fillers.

  • When making your appointment we allow consultation time to go through any skin concerns you may have and what you would like to achieve. This helps us to advise you on the best treatment for you!

  • Please do not take ibuprofen or aspirin before the treatment.

We also advise not to drink alcohol, any caffeine including energy drinks 24 hours prior to your treatment.

  • Our loyalty offer would give you your 6th treatment completely free.

We operate a booking system where we are able to see how many appointments you have had so we will let you know prior to your appointment if the treatment is for free.
